Belated Merry Christmas

I just wanted to wish everyone a belated merry Christmas. Thanks for all the well wishes and moral support. This last round of chemo was rougher on me than the first two were. I don't know how much of it is the chemo, the weather or a combination of things. I hope everyone has a happy new year.

First days after chemo - round 2

I had chemo on Wednesday. Thursday wasn't bad. I was more tired than anything, Yesterday and today were more painful. The prescriptions (Ibuprofen for pain and Neurontin for tingling) I got seem to be helping plus this time I have some idea what to expect.

I'm still losing my hair but I don't mind not having to shave my legs. I'll try to post more pictures soon.

Thanksgiving

I'm thankful for all the love and support I've been getting and that my side effects aren't worse than they are. That being said, the hair loss is the what's the most frustrating for me so today I cut it short. It's about 2 or 3 inches long. I forgot to take any of the back and sides. My wonderful husband said he'll help me with them tomorrow.

New schedule

The chemo that was scheduled for Nov. 22 has been rescheduled for Nov. 29 because of Thanksgiving. Everything after that has been pushed back a week. At least now I won't have chemo on Valentine's Day.

Alopecia

Well, it's started. I'm definitely shedding more hair then I used to. I still need to find out about getting a hair prosthesis. I'm glad my insurance pays for one.

A week after chemo

The pain is mostly gone and the tingling is much less intense than it was. I am noticing other side effects more now. Food tastes different, texture is more intense and temperature is inconsistent. Crystal Light lemonade used to taste quite lemony to me. Now it's much sweeter tasting. Pizza that was almost perfectly spiced is almost too spicy. We have Berber carpet in our apartment and it seems like I can feel every little loop in it. When I run water for a shower, it'll feel warm to my hands but cool to my feet.

Third day after chemo

I still have a lot of pain and tingling in my legs and feet. It's not as bad as yesterday but it's still bad. It seems like heat, massaging and stretching makes them hurt less. I hope this ends soon.

First days after chemo

The first day was great. I felt better than I have in a long time. I had no pain and more energy. Too bad it didn't last more than a day.

Today, not so much. All of my joints from the waist down hurt and I have mild tingling in my hands and feet. Apparently both are common side effects of the Taxol and usually appear 2 or 3 days after chemo. I'm trying to figure out what helps make them go away faster.
